16/03/2014 · I've never used soda, but I have used very worn out glass grit to get a good finish on alluminium, but from a pressure pot, not a syphon blaster. Again even with a pot blaster it's so easy to gouge the ally because the metal is softer than the paint. For that reason I avoid blasting ally wheels unless I can give them a good soak in paint stripper first.
